Handy location near the castle, making it easy to hop around town on foot. The lobby features bright decorations that set a welcoming tone, while the self-service breakfast provides a nice variety of hot, quality options.
Unfortunately, the hotel feels a bit dated. there are worn carpets on the back stairs that could use some attention. The lift situation is a hassle, as one was out of order. Rooms lack air-conditioning, which can be a drag in warmer weather, as you’ll need to choose between shutting windows for quiet and risking noise from early morning bin collections. The bathrooms could also use an upgrade—stepping over the bath for showers is awkward, especially without any railing for support.

During my recent business trip, I found the location to be a major highlight, just a short walk from the castle and other attractions. The room was nicely decorated, and I appreciated the modern touches that made my stay comfortable. the parking situation was a bit confusing, and there was an unusual smell in the bathroom that detracted from the overall experience.

the location was perfect for exploring nottingham. reception staff were really polite and made us feel welcome. loved the bright modern decor in the hotel, and the room was comfy with nice touches like sleep spray. breakfast had a lot of choice and was just what we needed to start our day. overall a pretty solid stay!
the bathroom smelled kinda musty, and the shower didn't really work well. also, the car park situation was a bit confusing and not exactly convenient.

Cozy vibe and friendly service!
Really enjoyed my stay! The staff were super friendly and made us feel at home. Our room was comfy, and the breakfast spread was just awesome! Only thing was the restaurant had a pretty limited menu, but still decent food. Location's spot on too, just a quick stroll to the city center.

Great spot for a getaway! Perfect for heading to the Nottingham Castle and the oldest pub nearby. The vibes are cozy and welcoming, making it a delight to return after a day of exploring. Just a heads up, the car park is a short walk away, but overall, it’s worth it. Highly recommended!
Had an issue with the parking. it feels a bit of a hike to get to. A clearer explanation on where to park would be appreciated.

I enjoyed the stylish modern look of the St James hotel. Quick check-in made my arrival smooth. The room was adequate with a lovely bed. The bathroom was spotless, which is always a plus. I appreciated the quiet area, just off the city centre. the room had a humming noise from nearby machinery that disrupted my sleep. The breakfast options were decent, but it took time to get coffee. I’d recommend great local breakfast spots nearby for a more fulfilling meal. a good hotel but some minor issues could be addressed.

Comfortable Stay in a Cozy Room
I enjoyed my two-night stay, especially the outstanding service from the staff. The food options nearby, especially the Cumin Indian restaurant, blew me away. Just a heads-up, the small room meant limited space. Perfect for a short business trip, but consider bringing earplugs for a quieter night.
